LinguaFlow

Machine translation for a whole Shopify store, not just its products.

The problem

Shopify will happily serve a store in twelve languages, and then leave a merchant to fill in every translatable string by hand. The translatable surface is much larger than most people expect — it is not only products, but collections, pages, articles, blogs, navigation, metafields and theme content.

What we built

  • A Shopify app that covers 19+ translatable content types and registers everything through Shopify’s own Translation API, so translations live where Shopify expects them rather than in a parallel store.
  • Bulk operations over the whole catalogue, queued and resumable, because a full-store translation is not a request-response operation.
  • A choice of translation engine — Azure Translator or DeepL — so a merchant is not locked to one vendor’s pricing or quality.
  • A translation-management view for reviewing and overriding machine output per field.
